Modeling: Masque, Feathered Carnival Mask
Herein you will find a series of images showcasing an elaborate feathered carnival mask, which I built in the early months of 2012. The high-resolution mesh, and you can see in the turntable animation, is not suited to games, but rather to pre-rendered scenes and animations.
For very many years, I've loved feathered carnival masks, and started making them more than once using feathers, glitter, and an array of bases. I never could quite get the look that I wanted to achieve, though, until I modeled it in 3D. This was a several month-long journey and my very first project in Modo, made long only because I kept thinking of new things that I wanted to add or better ways in which to accomplish things, and so kept going back to improve it.
In the end, not only did I make my mask, but many additional texture sets to expand its flexibility for a variety of occasions!
